Adoption Process in Liberia

1. Application

Prospective adoptive parents submit an application to the Ministry or a licensed child welfare agency.

2. Background Investigation

Social workers conduct home studies, background checks, and interviews.

3. Child Matching

The ministry matches children with suitable families based on needs and welfare.

4. Foster Placement

The child stays temporarily with the adoptive family while social workers monitor progress.

5. Court Approval

The adoption case is reviewed and approved by the Liberian court.

6. Adoption Certificate

The court issues an official adoption certificate making the child legally part of the family.
