The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection acknowledges receipt of a report concerning an alleged rape case involving a minor in Nimba County.

Immediately upon receiving the report, the ministry’s assigned Social Worker promptly contacted the John F. Kennedy One Stop Center to confirm the survivor’s admission and the commencement of medical treatment.

Medical personnel informed the Social Worker that the survivor required urgent surgery and blood. The ministry’s Gender-Based Violence Division engaged relevant authorities to ensure timely availability of the required blood.

The survivor successfully underwent surgery and is currently responding positively to treatment.

The Ministry remains committed to the protection of women and children and encourages the public to promptly report all cases of gender-based violence.
